La Leche

The Tyrant decided to get up at 6:30 this morning sowe had plenty of time.  We even ate breakfast. And by “we” I mean “I” since the Tyrant pretty much usually turns up his nose at all foods solid unless it is THE EXACT RIGHT MOMENT for him to eat, which he won’t tell you that it IS the right moment, you just have to guess and hope for the best.

So we I had our oatmeal, I made some food to take along just in case the RIGHT MOMENT would strike.  We rounded up a few toys, chastised the kitties just as a matter of course, got some last minute “buk” (aka, “milk”), got the socks and shoes, realized the shoes were horridly muddy, put on the socks, reserved the shoes, put on the jacket, put on Mama’s shoes, put gathered toys/food/drinks in Mama’s 10 lb bag, put muddy shoes on just before going out, opened door, prevented cat from escaping, carried toddler, bag and toddler’s ball to the car, unlocked car, got bag and toddler settled, turned on car and DVD and off we went!

We got to the meeting place with time to spare.

Got toddler, bag, and ball out of car along with another bag with materials needed for the meeting, cajoled toddler to walk into building whilst carrying 2 bags and a ball, got into building, carried by-now truculent toddler down the stairs, put toddler down, threw ball down hallway to motivate toddler to walk some more, got to meeting room, noticed the distinct lack of other people.

As it turned out, we got there with about 4 WEEKS to spare since the meeting was, in fact, last week.

This is not the second Wednesday of the month?  In my world, yes. Apparently not in the “real” world, however.

I won’t even discuss the trip back to the car carrying 2 bags, a ball and a toddler and the irritated Tyrant who was not at all shy about displaying how he felt about havingn to get back into the car 2 minutes after he had gotten free of it.  No. I won’t discuss that.

Not at all.

This is like deja vu. Did this happen to you before…or was that a different story?

At least you were on the right day of the week. That’s gotta count for something!

Ha! Amber, it is pretty much the story of my life. Yes, it happened before but with another group.
Mom, I was there…where were THEY? They need to get with the world in my head.

Perhaps you were me in a former life but somehow the getting reincarnated as a higher form didn’t actually work out and you came back as me this time as well. I have a feeling I just made less than zero sense. It seemed very deja vu to me too, to the extent that perhaps it was I that it happened to a long time ago. Never mind.
